History of Jhelum Pakistan

Jhelum is a city on the east bank of the Jhelum River, which is located in north Punjab Pakistan. It is the 44th largest city in Pakistan by population.

The city has a long and rich history dating back to ancient times. The area was settled by the Indus Valley Civilization, and later became part of the Achaemenid Empire, the Mauryan Empire, and the Gupta Empire. During this time, the region was an important center of trade and culture, with the city of Jhelum serving as a major hub for the Silk Road.
